Feasibility and Tender Design for the Merowe Irrigation Project, Sudan

The Merowe Irrigation Project, located in the Nile Valley in Northern Sudan downstream of the Merowe dam, serves a total area of about 350,000 ha additional net irrigation. A prioritisation process at pre-feasibility level was based on technical, agricultural and economic criteria for a set of various gravity supply and pump alternatives. Feasibility studies concentrated on the planning of the required water conveyance and distribution system, including the on-farm irrigation infrastructure. Subsequent services included the preparation of tender designs and documents for construction.more


Pehur High Level Canal (PHLC), Pakistan

The project area is located in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan. The area directly benefited is about 99,500 acres (40,300 ha). The PHLC will provide additional irrigation supplies from the Indus River to supplement the existing supplies from the Swat River.more


Kalu Ganga Development Project, Sri Lanka

The Kalu Ganga Development Project in the Central Province of Sri Lanka is a multipurpose water resources development scheme. The primary purpose of the project will be to increase existing water supplies to about 85,500 ha of drought-prone irrigation areas in the northern and central parts of Sri Lanka.more
