The Ouarzazate solar complex, with a total installed capacity of 500 MWt, will be developed in two phases. The first phase (Noor I) with a capacity of 160 MW is under construction; the second phase (Noor II and Noor III) will then bring the total capacity to about 340 MW. Owner’s Engineer for PV Plants at Sports Complex Mineirão / Mineirinho, Brazil

CEMIG, electricity company of the state of Minas Gerais located in Belo Horizonte, proposed integrating PV technology within the 2014 World Cup (WC) Mineirão and Mineirinho sports facilities. CEMIG contracted Lahmeyer as Owner’s Engineer for the implementation of the Minas Solar 2012 project. The aim of the project was the installation of two large scale commercial photovoltaic power systems on the rooftops of the world cup Mineirão stadium and its smaller sibling, the Mineirinho gymnasium. The project locations presented some challenges due to their being in use and the extensive refurbishment works. Thus a tight integration within the construction process for the Main Contractor’s work was required, which resulted in a successful commissioning of the plants.more

Ekibastuz Power Plant Unit 3, Kazakhstan

The growing demand of electric power in Kazakhstan requires an adjustment of the generation capacity. Therefore the client JSC ‘Ekibastuz GRES-2’ intends the expansion and reconstruction of the Ekibastuz Power Plant SDPP-2 by the installation of the new power unit No. 3 with a capacity of more than 600 MWel. The power plant site is 38 km north-east of the city Ekibastuz, which is located in the Pavlodar region in the northeast of Kazakhstan. The power station is the start of the power line Ekibastuz-Kokshetau and uses a transmission voltage of 1,150 kV, the highest transmission voltage in the world.
