Tractebel acquires Deutsche Offshore Consult to become leading offshore wind player

The acquisition of a majority stake in Deutsche Offshore Consult GmbH (DOC) on 5 December strengthens the company’s position in the sector on a sustainable basis.more

Smart grid study for Bangladesh

Lahmeyer and Tractebel develop smart grid solutions. Tractebel experts are carrying out a feasibility study for a sustainable power supply system in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is modernising its national energy infrastructure and is looking to future-oriented solutions to do so. To meet changing market requirements, smart grid concepts are to be implemented in distribution networks. Lahmeyer International in a consortium with Tractebel Romania is carrying out a feasibility study to help bring the benefits of smart grids to the people of rural areas. The project is being financed by the German development bank KfW as part of the "Modernisation of Power Distribution - Smart Grids" programme. more

Award for 12 million working hours without a single accident

Lahmeyer International received an award for first-class team performance in occupational safety from the developer of the Fadhili combined heat and power plant project at a festive presentation on 15 November 2018. Just 18 months after the start of construction a figure of twelve million working hours was reached without a single accident on the construction site, where work is progressing at a great pace. Lahmeyer is engaged as owner’s engineer at the Fadhili Plant Cogeneration Company (FPCC), which is operated by ENGIE, Saudi Aramco and Saudi Electricity Company.more

Lahmeyer supports tender process for power plant in Sudan

Lahmeyer International is contracted to identify a suitable EPC contractor to construct a planned 300 MW gas turbine power plant.

A new gas turbine power plant is planned to provide a more reliable electricity supply in the southern part of the Sudanese capital Khartoum. Lahmeyer International has been contracted as the technical consultant to identify a suitable EPC contractor to construct the planned 300 MW gas turbine power plant. In early July 2018, eight companies presented their bids to participate in the tendering process.more

Steam is blowing at Kathu Solar Park in South Africa

Kathu Solar Park is one of a handful of large scale CSP projects world-wide with thermal storage.

First steam generation: on Saturday, September 28th, steam blow began at Kathu Solar Park. Steam blowing represents a significant achievement for the entire commissioning process as it marks the first steam generation utilizing solar energy while confirming the safe operability of the plant key subsystems.more
