From 27 to 29 January 2018, the Energy Development Council Nepal (EDC) held the Nepal Power Investment Summit 2018 in Kathmandu. The event drew more than 500 national and international energy sector professionals to the capital of the Himalayan country to discuss the regional energy situation. Executive Director Bernhard Stabel and Sales Director Joerg-Peter Albrecht of the Lahmeyer division Hydropower and Water Resources used the summit as an opportunity to meet with delegates of ministries, embassies, companies or governmental and private investors.

“Nepal has interesting possibilities concerning power generation, especially looking at hydro power and possibly pumped storage projects, which could support the increasing installed capacity in renewables”, says Bernhard Stabel. “Right now, we are working on several hydroelectric projects involving the Bhotekoshi, Tamakoshi and Seti rivers and others. The Nepal Power Investment Summit is a great opportunity for us to get in touch with potential customers and stay in contact with our local business partners.”
