ELCOGAS PUERTOLLANO Integrated Gasification CC Power Plant, Spain
The Puertollano IGCC project was triggered when the EEC defined guidelines of its energy policy in 1990. The selected process for the gasification of coal and coke is based on the so-called “entrained bed technology“. The Krupp Koppers Prenflo technology was selected for implementation together with a gas turbine combined cycle of Siemens whereby the waste heat recovery boiler is provided with a triple pressure system.
