Bathymetric Survey of Lake Kivu
The Rwandese Ministry of Public Works commissioned a joint venture with Lahmeyer International as leading firm with the bathymetric survey and mapping of lake Kivu with an area of 2700 km². Aim of this World Bank project was to quantify the large supplies of methane gas and carbon dioxide dissolved in the deep water.
