The Combined Cycle District Heating and Power Plant „Köln-Niehl II” was erected in order to secure the future heat and power demand.
The plant is situated at Cologne-Niehl next to the existing conventional power plant in the main harbour area. It supplies electrical power and heat to the city of cologne and its environment. The heat serves approx. 45.000 households.
