Kaluganga Multipurpose Project, Sri Lanka
Lahmeyer International has been awarded a consultancy services contract by the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka (MASL) for the preparation of tender designs and documents.
The construction supervision is an option. Lahmeyer International has already been involved in this project since 2004. At that time a Feasibility Study for the Kaluganga Multipurpose Project was carried out.
The project aims to provide supplementary supplies for irrigation and urban/industrial water requirements. The main components comprise a 65m high rockfill dam and two saddle dams, together with a spillway, two intakes for irrigation canals and a bottom outlet.
