Dr.-Ing. Bernd Kordes will join Lahmeyer International’s management on 1st August, 2010
He will take over as CEO of Lahmeyer International Group with effect of 1st October, 2010 upon retirement of Dr.-Ing. Henning Nothdurft, who will then continue to serve Lahmeyer International as Chairman of the Advisory Board.
Dr. Kordes holds a M.Sc. in Civil engineering, with a specialisation in hydraulic engineering, and a Ph.D., both from Karlsruhe Technical University. Dr. Kordes has 21 years of experience in consulting engineering: 4 years as managing director of the German subsidiary of Woodward Clyde, Denver, USA and 17 years with GKW Group, Mannheim, Germany and its successor the Pöyry Group, Finland. He served since 1996 as President and CEO of GKW Group, after takeover by Pöyry as President of the Water and Environment Business Area and since January 2009 as Member of the Group Executive Committee. He was responsible for the worldwide operations of the Water and Environment Business Group of Pöyry, with a staff of 900 employees and a turnover of approx. EUR 85 million.
