Extension of the High-Voltage Power Network in Qatar - New Major Contract for Lahmeyer International

Lahmeyer International continues to consolidate its position as a leading Engineering Consultant in the energy sector at the Arabian Gulf with a new major contract. Lahmeyer, in its 10th year of presence in the State of Qatar, has been awarded a new Contract for supervision of the implementation stage for a part of Phase 13 Qatar Power Transmission System Expansion, on behalf of Qatar General Electricity and Water Authority (KAHRAMAA). The Services will include overall project management, review and approval of Contractor´s design as well as construction site supervision and commissioning.
 
Over the next three years, a total of five EPC Contractors will perform their construction work under Lahmeyer’s management and supervision. Works will comprise of construction and modernisation of 36 gas-insulated substations as well as of installation of nearly 600 km of underground cable systems of varying voltage levels of 220 kV, 132 kV and 66 kV.
