Hassyan I Power and Desalination Station
To meet the ever growing requirement of power and water in Dubai, DEWA planned to add under the term “Al Hassyan Power and Desalination Complex” a huge plant comprising of 6 stations (HAPS-I, HAPS-II ... HAPS-VI) each with a capacity of around 1500 MW (gross) power & 100- 120 MIGD desalinated water with a configuration consisting of gas turbines (GTs) associated with heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), auxiliary boilers (ABs), backpressure steam turbines (BST) and MSF desalination units. Furthermore, water storage and transfer system to town for potable water supply system.
Lahmeyer International GmbH has been assigned to execute planning and engineering of the power and desalination station designated as HAPS-I.
In 2010, DEWA cancelled the project as EPC type of contract to investigae the project as IWPP type contract in future.
