The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) intends to implement a national biodiesel industry meeting international standard product specifications (according to US and EU standards). The feedstock will be palm oil in a first step. Therefore NNPC is planning a joint venture with other companies and financiers to develop additional palm oil plantations, as well as to operate an independent biodiesel plant.
